About Our Home Grown Flower Studio, Based in Dudleston
My journey into floristry began through the quiet satisfaction of growing flowers. From the very beginning, it was the delicate and fragrant blooms that captured my heart - the kinds so often missing from conventional flower offerings. That absence sparked both a passion and a purpose: to grow the flowers I longed to work with, and to design arrangements that celebrated their natural beauty.
I now work from my garden-based studio at home, with a nearby cutting patch where I grow many of the flowers I use. Being hands-on from seed to stem allows me to create arrangements that are truly seasonal and rooted in the landscape around me. What I don’t grow myself, I try to source from other local and British growers when the season allows.
As the seasons evolve so will the flowers in a bouquet. Whether a bridal bouquet, a winter wreath or farewell florals, each design is entirely unique. I design in response to what’s in bloom, letting the flowers guide the shape and feel of each piece. My style leans into the natural rhythm of the garden - wild, textural, and full of movement. This connection with nature inspires a gentler, more sustainable approach to floristry, avoiding floral foam and single-use plastics, in favour of eco-conscious techniques that reflect that respect.
For me, floristry is a quiet storytelling - of petals and place, of scent and season - from the garden soil to your hands or home.
In May 2025 I was honoured to win the regional heat of the British Florist Association’s UK Florist of the Year - Newcomer category in Sheffield. This recognition means a great deal to me, as it celebrates not just the design, but the craft, creativity and care that go into floristry.
I’m thrilled to be one of just six finalists competing for the title of ‘UK Florist of the Year - Newcomer’ this October; a truly exciting opportunity to grow, learn and share my love for flowers with other flower fanatics.
